On September 9, Elon Musk shared his vision of a mirrorless future, stating, “No side or rear view mirrors in the future.” in a recent post on X.
Rearview mirrors create wind resistance while the car is moving, which can reduce the range of an electric car. Elon Musk believes that when self-driving technology matures, rearview mirrors will be ditched altogether.

4. TII has open-sourced Falcon-180B for research and commercial utilization
On September 6, the AI community Hugging Face announced on its official website that Falcon 180B, an open-source Large Language Model (LLM) trained by the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), has officially landed in the community.
As the largest open-source LLM to date, it has 180 billion parameters and has completed training on 3.5 trillion tokens. In terms of performance, Falcon 180B outperforms Llama 2 70B and OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 on MMLU, is on par with Google’s PaLM 2-Large on HellaSwag, LAMBADA, WebQuestions, and other datasets, and scores 68.74% on the Hugging Face open source big model list with 68.74 points, surpassing Meta’s Llama 2 in the first place.

Amazon One has trained a neural network using data from millions of artificial hands to create a contactless, convenient payment and identity verification system. The system reportedly surpasses the accuracy of iris scanning technology.
The system is trained using a “palm factory” of millions of synthetic palm images and has achieved 99.99% accuracy in over 3 million applications.
Using the unique lines, ridges, veins, and ridges on your palm, Amazon One associates a unique palm signature with your credit card or Amazon account.
