2. Global generative AI market to reach $59 billion by 2028

According to the New York Times, the global generative AI market will grow from $6 billion this year to $59 billion by 2028 as AI technology is deployed in industries such as marketing and insurance, according to data research agency Omdia. 3. DeepMind: AGI development in 6 stages ChatGPT belongs to L1

On November 4, Google DeepMind released a paper proposing a complete roadmap for AGI.

The paper claims that large models such as ChatGPT, Bard and Llama 2 belong to the first stage (L1) and have met the generalization to be achieved in that stage.

The framework argues that the development of AGI must follow 6 basic principles: focus on ability, not process; measure both skill level and generalizability; focus on cognitive and metacognitive tasks; focus on the highest potential, not the actual level of landing; focus on ecological validity; and focus on the development of the entire path of AGI, not a single endpoint.

Based on this principle, AGI will present 6 major development stages, namely: Stage 0 “No AI”, Stage 1 “Emerging”, Stage 2 “Competent”, Stage 3 Expert”, Stage 4 “Virtuoso”, Stage 5 “Superhuman,” with depth and breadth indicators for each stage.
