1. Foxconn and NVIDIA to build AI factory to produce self-driving cars

Foxconn, a well-known foundry, announced today that it will use NVIDIA's chips and software to build an AI data factory for products such as self-driving cars, Reuters reported.

At Foxconn's annual Technology Day in Taipei, Foxconn Chairman Yangwei Liu and NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang announced on the same stage that the two companies will jointly build an AI factory to create a complete end-to-end AI system for self-driving electric cars, with the AI factory developing the car's software.

Jen-Hsun Huang showed a hand-drawn sketch of the AI factory to be built by the two companies, which will receive data inputs and produce intelligent outputs: "In the future, every company and every industry will have an AI factory”.

2. OpenAI and Microsoft Unveil DALL·E 3: A Revolutionary Approach to Image Captioning

In an exciting development in the field of artificial intelligence, OpenAI, in collaboration with Microsoft, has released a groundbreaking 19-page research paper on DALL·E 3, a new Venn diagram model. The paper, penned by 15 authors, focuses on the best practices for framing image descriptions.

The paper highlights that the primary challenge with existing models is the subpar quality of text-image pairs in the training dataset, a concern echoed in various other studies. Addressing this issue head-on, the authors suggest a novel approach - generating enhanced text descriptions for images in the dataset.

However, it does not share anything about the models training and implementation specifics

The unveiling of DALL·E 3 marks a pivotal moment in the AI industry, promising a future where image captioning is not just accurate but also intuitive and user-centric.
